Talented young artists from 3 states entered the 2009 Genesis Competition sponsored by Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology Visual Communications division. High School aged students submitted entries from Canadian Valley Tech Center, Cave Springs High School, Durant High School, Edison High School, Elmore City High School, Evangelistic Temple, Glenpool High School, Green Country Tech Center, Grizzly Creek (Homeschool), Goodwell Public School, Harrisburg High School, Lawrence High, Lemley Campus, Tulsa Tech Center, ICTC Sallisaw/Indian Capitol, Tech Center, Magnet Cove High, Mammoth Springs High, Metro Christian Academy, NewCastle High School, Preston Public School, Pulaski Academy, Putnam City North, Spiro High School, Southside High School, Sand Springs Campus Tulsa Tech Center, Union High School, Victory Christian School, Vinita High School, Wellsville High School, and WynneWood High School.

The 6th Annual Genesis Competition Awards Celebration was held Friday April 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology's Hospitality Services State Room. Numerous entrants, winners, teachers, judges, and families attended this special event. The evening began with an elegant dinner presented by Hospitality Services Division students under the direction of Chef Robert Sherill and Chef Jason Marsh. After dinner, guest speaker Sharon Braun, of the Creek Nationa Casino, presented a sampling of work and spoke about the industry of design. The Awards portion of the ceremony was highlighted with a multimedia presentation of the award winning work while awards were being presented.

The 7th Annual Genesis Competition entry deadline is February 26, 2010. New entry materials and the poster will be available in the fall of 2009. All High-school aged students are encouraged to enter. Watch this website for details.
